PURPOSE: To reduce the cost of a coated fiber contrast device for optical fiber ribbon cable, and to use the same in a narrow space for working, by forming a slit in a shield panel, orthogonal to a direction in which the optical fiber ribbon cable coated fibers are arranged, and by arranging the shield panel so as to be movable in the coated fiber arranging direction. CONSTITUTION: A coated fiber contrast device comprises a plurality of light sources 1 which can be controlled so as to be turned on and off, an optical power meter 4 connected to an optical sensor 2 through an optical fiber 3, and a shield panel 5 which is arranged between a detecting surface 2a of the optical sensor 2 and one end of optical fiber ribbon cable (c), orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the ribbon cable (c). A slit 5a is formed in the shield panel 5, orthogonal to a direction in which the ribbon cable (c) are arranged, and the shield panel 5 is arranged so as to be slidable in the ribbon cable coated fiber arranging direction. Accordingly, this coated fiber contrast device is used for coated fiber contrasting of the ribbon cable (c), thereby it is possible to carry out the coated fiber contrast with only one line in an optical power detecting system. |
