PURPOSE: To provide an elliptic polarizing plate which shows high adhesion performance and has an adhesive layer which excels in optical characteristics by providing an acrylic resin adhesive layer containing a specific amount of solvent. CONSTITUTION: An elliptic polarizing plate consists of an adhesive layer 1, a phase difference film, an adhesive layer 2, and a polarizing plate. A solvent of 5-5000ppm, preferably 10-500ppm, remains in acrylic resin at least in either of the adhesive layer 1 and the adhesive layer 2. The constituent components of the acrylic resin include a soft monomer component having low glass- transition temperature, a hard comonomer component having high glass- transition temperature, and a monomer component containing a small amount of functional group as required. It is desirable that the amount of solvent contained may be controlled by diluting acrylic resin adhesive by a solvent such as toluene, ethyl acetate, etc., to 10000ppm or more, applying it to a film, and then drying it at a temperature of 50-200 deg.C. |
