<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a magnetic carrier for developer preventing the sticking of the carrier and capable of forming a high quality image having a high image density by using powder of a metallic magnet material made anisotropic. CONSTITUTION: This magnetic carrier is formed using powder of a metallic magnet material made anisotropic. The average particle diameter may be regulated to 10-100μm and the surface may be treated with an oxidized coating film or by coating with a resin. A metallic magnet material such as 'Alnico 5(R)', 'Alnico 8(R)', an Fe-Cr-Co alloy or an Mn-Al-Co alloy is made anisotropic by a known means. The resultant stock is pulverized to have <=1.0μm particle diameter, dry-mixed with a resin, kneaded under heating, solidified by cooling, pulverized and classified to obtain the objective magnetic carrier having 10-100μm particle diameter. In other way, the stock is pulverized to have a prescribed particle diameter and classified as it is to obtain the objective nonspherical magnetic carrier.</p> |
