A trading card game (10) is provided having a plurality of vampire cards and library cards (38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50). Each vampire card depicts a vampire (20, 24, 26) having its own level of life (28, 30, 32). Players bring vampire cards and library cards into play by placing them in a playing area (52, 54, 56), this enables the players and the vampires to alter the state of other players, vampires, library cards in an effort to defeat other vampires and other players. Blood counters represent the level of life of a player, and are used with the vampire cards to represent the level of life of each vampire. When a player's level off life is reduced to zero, the player is removed from the game. The game uses trading cards wherein players obtain by purchasing, trading, and/or winning them as ante in playing the game. Cards have varying degrees of availability, denoted as common, uncommon, and rare. |
