The invention concerns a protective device (2) for a container (1), for example for a tank installation or tanker, for storing and transporting in particular pollutant liquids, sludges and the like. The container (1) has at least one filler pipe and in particular an adjacent discharge pipe (13). This device renders cleaning of the tank (1) unnecessary both as a routine measure and when the contents are replaced, and prevents any leakage of fluid in the event of an accident or if the container wall (10) is damaged. The device, which has a simple design, renders cleaning of the container (1) and of the tank installations unnecessary. It acts as a protective device, even when the wall (10) of the tank (1) is damaged. To this end, a protective device (2) made of resilient expandable material is introduced into the container (1). The resistance of this device (2) is adapted to the chemical composition of the tank contents, and the device prevents the fluid from coming into contact with the inner face of the wall (10) of the container/tank (1). |
