The two strips of sheet (1,5) may be joined to one another by clipping or plugging together. Alternatively the two strips (1,5,5') may be joined by clamping by bending round the tongued ends (15) of the strip. Details include strip ends (2,3) to contact the narrow sides of the brake pad (4), using the ends (6,7) of the second strip (5,5') to contact the pad retaining pins (8,9). For clipping, the second strip is twice bent (10,11) to enclose the centre part (12) of strip (1). Otherwise, the tongued ends (15) are bent round as stated.
