PURPOSE: To provide a cleaning device capable of quickly and efficiently peeling removed toner retained in the edge part of a rubber blade from the surface of an intermediate transfer belt and obtaining high productivity in image formation. CONSTITUTION: The rubber blade 22-2 and an entrance sealing member 22-1 are independently abutted on/separated from the surface of the intermediate transfer belt 19 and the relation of a time difference T1 in the abutting start of the rubber blade 22-2 and the entrance sealing member 22-1 on the surface of the belt 19, a time difference T2 in the separation start of the rubber blade 22-2 and the entrance sealing member 22-1 from the surface of the belt 19, the abutting and separating speeds V1 and V1 ' of the rubber blade 22-2 on/from the surface of the belt 19 and the abutting and separating speeds V2 and V2 ' of the entrance sealing member 22-1 on/from the surface of the belt 19 is set 0≠t<T2 , V1 =V1 ' and V2 =V2 '. |
