摘要 PURPOSE: To improve the sensitivity of a vibrator and an angular velocity sensor, and simplify the sensitivity adjustment thereof. CONSTITUTION: The vibrator 10 supports a tuning fork type vibration body 12 with a torsion bar 16 having both ends fixed. Also, the torsion bar 16 is provided with torsional vibration bodies 14 and 15, thereby forming a torsional vibration system. When a rotating angular velocity acts during the planar vibration of each of the vibration pieces 12a and 12b of the vibration body 12 along an X-axis a torsional vibration having the torsion bar 16 as the center is induced in the vibration body due to a Coriolis force and a torsional vibration corresponding to the rotating angular velocity takes place in the torsional vibration system, as well. Then, the torsional vibration is amplified through the vibration bodies 12, 14 and 15, and detected by piezoelectric elements 20a and 20b laid on the bodies 14 and 15 to detect the torsional vibration.
