<p>The mixer comprises a base (11) enclosing an electric motor (13) whose output shaft (15) projects from the base. A bowl (18) is mounted above the base, with a cover (20) mounted over the bowl. A rotary tool (24) is mounted in the base of the bowl in order to be coupled to the motor shaft. The cover and the upper edge of the bowl are fastened together by means of a bolt (44) which is solidly attached to the cover. Associated with the cover is a transmission element (46) operable by the bolt, passing through the handle (38) to reach a switch (50). The switch acts to prevent operation of the motor when the cover is open, whilst permitting operation once the cover is closed.</p> |
