An apparatus for shredding and mixing fibrous products for animal feed preparation comprises a trough (11) within which mixing and shredding means for said fibrous products are mounted. With said means, according to the invention there cooperates an agitator device (27) able to prevent any stagnation of the product being processed. Said agitator device (27) is mounted on a wall of the trough in an intermediate position.
