<p>PURPOSE: To provide a commodity control device by which a commodity registering work at the check-out counter is obviated, by registering the commodity when the commodity is taken out from a commodity display rack, and canceling the registration when the commodity is returned to the commodity display rack. CONSTITUTION: A customer performs his shopping while carrying with a customer identification medium in which an identification code is stored. When customer identification code reading-out parts 3 detect the approach of the customer to the commodity display rack 2, the customer identification code is read out from the customer identification medium with which the customer carries. Moreover, when the commodity identification code reading-out part 4 detects taking- out or returning of the commodity from or to the commodity display 2, the commodity identification code of this commodity is read out. And the registration or cancellation of the commodity is performed by matching the customer identification code by a host device 7.</p> |
