<p>PURPOSE: To decompose and remove a silicone rubber, a silicone resin, etc., under mild conditions by using a mixture comprising an orthoester, an active hydrogen compd.. and an acid catalyst. CONSTITUTION: A mixture comprising an orthoester, an active hydrogen compd., and an acid catalyst is used as a compsn. for decomposing a polysiloxane in the form of an oil, a raw or vulcanized rubber, a varnish, a resin, or a polysilsesquioxane. The orthoester is pref. methyl orthoformate and is used in an amt. of 0.5mol or higher based on 1mol of Si-O-Si bond. The active hydrogen compd. (e.g. a hydroxyl compd.) is pref. methyl alcohol and is used in an amt. of 0.01mol or higher, pref. 0.5mol or higher. And, the acid catalyst is pref. sulfuric acid and is used in an amt. of 0.01-1wt.%. pref. 0.05-0.5wt.%. The compsn. can decompose a polysiloxane under mild conditions by bringing them into contact with each other by applying, immersing, etc.. and is thus effective e.g. for removing a thin polysiloxane film.</p> |
