PURPOSE: To promote a minimal external improvement and a low level maintenance by extending a first series intake passage up to an adjacent surgetank from one of eight cylinders and a second series intake passage up to the adjacent surge tank from the first number cylinder, respectively. CONSTITUTION: A long first intake passage 118 and a short second intake passage 120 inclusive of a cylinder head's intake passage are connected to each of nine cylinder bores 51 to 58. This short second intake passage 120 is extended up to an adjacent surge tank 48 or 50 from each cylinder of these cylinder bores 51 to 58. A side of the long first intake passage 118 comes to a set of groups, and some of which among them are extended up to the surge tank 48 or 50 being set up on another cylinder bank from these cylinder bores 51 to 58. In addition, the surge tank 48 or 50 to be supplied to the first intake passage 118 of respective cylinder bores is replaced, whereby two ignition cylinders being adjoined with each other are made so as not to get out of the same surge tank.
