PURPOSE: To avoid the unnecessary discharging of exhaust gas and the generation of unnecessary vibration by preventing blowing up of the engine of a power generation plant when regenerative braking is applied to a traveling electric motor for hybrid vehicle. CONSTITUTION: When power is generated while the opening of an intake air control valve of an engine 16 for driving a generator 17 of a power generating plant 2 is controlled so that mechanical output which corresponds to a target generating output of the generator 17 can be obtained according to the operating conditions, regenerative braking of a travel-propelling electric motor 4 is detected by an accelerator sensor 7, a brake switch 8, and an electric current sensor 10b. According to the results of detection, the opening of the intake air control valve of the engine 16 is corrected in the direction of closing it. |
