PURPOSE: To prevent blocking and to obtain a highly brilliant image having metal gloss by adding a specific amt. of non-meltable particles with a mean particle size of a specific value or less to an adhesive layer. CONSTITUTION: A thermal transfer recording medium is obtained by providing hot-melt layers 2, 3, a metal vapor deposition layer 4 and an adhesive layer 5 on a base material 1. 30-75wt.% of non-meltable particles with a mean particle size of 0.2μm or less are added to the adhesive layer 5. Therefore, even when non-meltable particles are exposed to the surface of the adhesive layer 5, the surface of the adhesive layer 5 does not become uneven to a degree generating the irregular reflection of light and the metal vapor deposition layer after transfer becomes smooth and a highly brilliant printing image having metal gloss can be formed. Since the content of the non-meltable particles is much, a sufficient amt. of the non-meltable particles are exposed to the surface of the adhesive layer 5 and the blocking of the thermal transfer recording medium can be prevented. |
