PURPOSE: To provide a thermal transfer image receiving material good in ink dot reproducibility and ink transfer properties and excellent in sharpness and gradation properties. CONSTITUTION: In a thermal transfer image receiving material obtained by applying a receiving layer to at least the single surface of a base material, the peak pore size in the pore size distribution curve of the receiving layer is 0.05-5.0μm and the smoothness thereof 2 is 100sec or more and the oil absorption thereof is set to 5-ml/m<2> or more.
