PURPOSE: To obtain ferrosilicon nitride improved in corrosion resistance to molten slag, etc., without impairing its refractoriness. CONSTITUTION: This ferrosilicon nitride which contains 1-20wt.% of Fe and sialon, is obtained by nitriding mixed powder comprising 50-98wt.% of ferrosilicon powder and/or metallic silicon powder containing 2-50wt.% of Fe component, >=1wt.% of silica powder and >=1wt.% of alumina powder in an atmosphere containing nitrogen and/or ammonia under temperature between 1600 and 1400 deg.C by raising at a rate of >=10 deg.C/h. |
