PURPOSE: To prevent the deterioration of material characteristics without causing an unnecessary solid phase reaction or phase separation by coating the surface of crystalline powder with an amorphous precursor or a precursor made of superfine crystallite and sintering the coated powder. CONSTITUTION: The surface of crystalline powder is coated with a small amt. of an amorphous precursor or a precursor made of superfine crystallite. The precursor has the same compsn. as the powder or contains one or more components of the powder and forms sintered boundary faces joining the particles of the powder by sintering. The coated powder is sintered to obtain a moderately porous body or a dense body. |
