摘要 PURPOSE: To guide combustion gas into a chamber, completely oxidize an unburnt component and increase the amount of expansion of an air bag by forming the chamber, which surrounds a gas exhaust port and communicates with the opening of the air bag, between the air bag and a housing. CONSTITUTION: A gas generator 1 generates gas upon impact and an air bag nt 2 introduces the gas to expand. The gas generator 1 has a housing 4 provided with a gas exhaust port 3 in which a gas generating agent 5 including a combustible component and an oxidizing agent is provided and an igniting means for the gas generating agent 5 is provided. In this case, a chamber 20, which surrounds the gas exhaust port 3 and communicates with the opening 19 of the air bag 2 is formed with a ring member 21 between the air bag 2 and the housing 4. Then, in the chamber 20, an oxygen feed means, for example, air housed in the chamber 20 is provided. Thus, the combustion gas of the gas generating agent 5 is guided into the chamber 20, so that an unburnt component is completely oxidized, temperature is raised and the amount of expansion of the air bag 2 is increased.
