PURPOSE: To facilitate the easy execution of accurate scanning work by surely checking the meandering and deflection of a scanned body. CONSTITUTION: A carrying device has a rotary drum 14 and a nip roller which is below the rotary drum 14 and can freely move forward and backward. The nip roller has a plurality of rollers 46, 48, 50, 52, 54, and in the case where the thickness of a film 12 is 75-150μm, the ends 12a, 12a of the film 12 separates from the ends 46a, 54a of the rollers 46, 54 toward the axial inside as much as 5mm at its maximum. Thus, the ends 46a, 54a of the rollers 46, 54 does not come into direct contact with the rotary drum 14, and the carrying speed of the film 12 is prevented from partially large variation, and the film 12 can therefore be accurately carried.
