PURPOSE: To provide a cover for an air bag assembly which properly actuates by disposing an inner holding member to overlap and carry an outer layer and a foam material layer on an opening part for development of an air bag, and a door for supporting this to prevent it from moving inward. CONSTITUTION: A cover assembly 12 to cover an air bag assembly of an instrument panel includes a holding member 15 to support two doors 16, 18, and this covers an opening part 20. The opening part 20 is framed by a sleeve 21 of a holding member 15, and this includes two side walls 22, 24. Both doors 16, 18 respectively include cover panels 28, 38, and inserts 30, 40 having one end parts embedded in end parts of these, and tabs 31, 42 respectively formed at the other end parts of these are fastened to a vertical part of the holding member 15. The cover assembly 12 includes a flexible outer layer 52, a weakening seam line 54 is formed on the inner surface of it, and a foam material layer 56 is filled inside of it.
