PURPOSE:To reduce the quantity of arithmetic operation when inter-code interference in multi-path fading is compensated by Viterbi equalization with excellent compensation performance by limiting a delay wave to which the Viterbi algorithm is applied to only an n-th wave and selecting the n-th wave having large reception power. CONSTITUTION:An impulse response estimate part 11 estimates an impulse response of a propagation line. A tentative discrimination part 12 decodes initial tentative data. Then an applied wave selection part 13 uses the estimated impulse response to select an n-th wave with large power, an inter-code interference elimination part 14 uses an impulse response estimated to be tentative discrimination data to eliminate inter-code interference of waves other than the selected n-th wave. A Viterbi equalization part 15 sets the estimated impulse response by other waves than the selected n-th wave to 0 and applies Viterbi equalization as to the selected n-th wave. In this case, when the selected wave is not continuous, the Viterbi algorithm is applied to divided waves. |
