PURPOSE: To obtain a thermal transfer material to be recorded excellent in gradation reproducibility and capable of obtaining high density image recorded matter by enhancing the close adhesiveness of the surfaces of the colorant layer of a colorant sheet and a dye image receiving layer at the time of the recording of an image by enhancing the surface smoothness of the dye image receiving layer of the thermal transfer material to be recorded and forming the dye image receiving layer having sublimable dye dyeing properties. CONSTITUTION: A thermal transfer material to be recorded is obtained by forming a highly smooth dye image receiving layer 3 composed of a synthetic resin and a modified silicone material on one surface of a transparent plastic sheet support 1 and forming a heat-resistant treatment layer 2 on the other surface thereof.
