Use of the combination of chlorpromazine plus interleukin-6 to treat or prevent septic shock

Methods and compositions are provided for treating or preventing septic shock in a mammal. The methods comprise administering to a mammal afflicted with or at high risk for developing septic shock an effective amount of a combination of chlorpromazine and IL-6.
