PURPOSE:To obtain the highest possible photographic sensitivity and to decrease pressure sensitivity by spectrally sensitizing silver halide particles by a sensitizing dye and incorporating a polyhydroxy-substd. benzene compd. into an emulsion layer or the other hydrophilic colloid layer. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide particles of the photosensitive material contg. the planar silver halide particles having >=3 aspect ratio are spectrally sensitized by the sensitizing dye having >=80% saturation absorption quantity and the polyhydroxy-substd. benzene is made to exist at <10<-1>mol. per mol. of silver in the emulsion layer or the other layer. The blackening by the pressure of the planar emulsion is greatly improved and in addition, the relation between the photographic sensitivity and the pressure sensitivity of this time is optimized when the amt. of the sensitizing dye to be added is usually >=80% of the saturation coating amt. in a negative type development system. The highest possible spectral sensitivity is thereby obtd. and the pressure sensitivity of the most adequately chemically sensitized particles is lowered to the level having no problems in practicability. |
