The invention relates to a reusable security tag which can be attached in a simple manner to clothing which has to be protected against shoplifting. This tag can be opened wholly with a key made specially for this purpose, and said key is able to open a whole series of tags but not the tags of another series, in contrast to the existing tags which make use of unlocking tools which can readily be copied or stolen by a thief or are commercially available. Since these unlocking tools are universal, it is not a pleasant thought for the user that anybody else is able to get hold of the same unlocking tool, legally or illegally. The present invention also comprises the lock construction which can be of plastic, includes a complementary key shape and also a movable part with a unique design, in a closed construction, of a rake-like section having flexible or points which break off or bend if attempts are made to open the tag with the wrong key.
