The suspension unit consists of a leg (7) linked at one end to part of the chassis of the vehicle by two oscillating horizontal arms, arranged roughly horizontal one above the other. The other end of the leg carries the wheel, by means of two ball and socket bearings, upper (9) and lower (8), whose relative centres form the pivot axis for the wheel. One part of the lower ball joint is fixed to a ball end, carried by the leg so as to allow the position of the ball (8a) to be adjusted in the direction of the axis (XX) of the wheel pivot. The other part of the lower ball joint is linked to the wheel hub (2) by means of an elastic component (20) whose deformation allows the corresponding displacement to the adjustment to take place.
