A folding door which can be moved with the aid of drive means is composed of a series of panels, one end of which is hingedly connected to a fixed post and the other end of which bears the closure protection arrangement for controlling the drive means of the folding door. The closure protection arrangement comprises at least one transmitter/receiver assembly with a transmitter unit and a receiver unit for generating a beam of radiation past the associated end of the folding door, at a distance therefrom. The closure protection arrangement is designed to act on the drive means when the amount of radiation received from the transmitter unit by the receiver unit falls below a predetermined level. The transmitter unit and the receiver unit are each mounted on an arm which includes an obtuse angle with that side of the associated panel which is remote from the adjoining panel of the folding door in the folded position.
