The invention relates to a method for cleaning in a liquid medium fabrics or clothes, characterized in that it comprises a vacuum drying step carried out under a pressure between 1.5x10<3> and 15x10<3> Pa in the presence of vapour intended to be used as a carrier for removing said liquid and injected from a source at a pressure between 0.8x10<4> and 8x10<4> Pa. It also relates to a plant for implementing such method.
