Air controlled sampling probe for semi solid or liquid samples

A sampling probe for extracting samples of semi solid or liquid substances during various stages of their processing in chemical retorts/vessels comprises a flexible sample tube (1.1) closed at one end and sealed to a screwed base with screw cap (1.2) at its opposite end. With cap (1.2) removed the tube (1.1) is screwed into an enclosing cylinders at the end of a probe staff into which compressed air is injected causing the tube (1.1) to flatten to the shape shown in Fig. 2. The assembled probe is then inserted into the vessel, the air pressure reduced and a sample of the substance drawn into the tube for convenient removal and sealing.
