Microcomputer system with direct or indirect communication with EEPROM

The microcomputer system (27) has an EEPROM memory (8) that can be overwritten with data or can be read from either directly from an external source or via the CPU (2). The system has a control register (9) to provide access to the modes of operation. A control switching state (10) is coupled to the register to control the inputs that are in the form of addresses (P6-P19), data bits (P20,P27) and control bits (P28-P32). The control bits provide direct external control of the EEPROM. Inputs-outputs (P1-P5) provide communication to the EEPROM via the CPU.
