<p>A magnetic signal detector utilizing a ferromagnetic thin-film magnetoresistive device, in which the direction of magnetization of a thin-film magnetoresistor can be optimized by a small bias magnetic field to produce a maximum output of high linearity. The direction of magnetization (M) is set to 45° by disposing a bias magnet (3) in such a manner as to give an angle 56° of a bias magnetic field Hb to a current (I) flowing in a longitudinal direction of the thin-film magnetoresistor (2) on a substrate, and a maximum output having high linearity is obtained between power supply terminals (4 and 5).</p> |
