The washer (2) itself is designed as the screw fastener and has a raised profiled section on both the side of the component and the side of the screw part. The profiled section may be cogged by teeth (3) running radially, straight or curved. The profiled section can have a symmetrical or an asymmetrical locking gearing with a saw-tooth profile (5). The profiled sections can extend only over a part of the radial width of the washer. The radial width of the profiled sections can be different on either side of the washer. The washer may have a central bore whilst the screw part may be a nut.
