Part of the top surface of the housing (2) has a heat-absorber (6) supplied with colder water, while hot water is stored in a number of tanks (9), the water outlet from each tank being connected to the inlet to the adjacent one. Control can be by a thermostat detector (16) after the absorber and a thermostat valve (15) in the water circuit. The valve and/or pump (13) can be at the absorber inlet. The housing can be of triangular cross-section, with the hypotenuse forming the absorber, while the tanks are tubular and of decreasing cross-section to fit inside the triangle. They can consist of pressure vessels, and the mounting shells accommodating them can form part of the heat-insulating material (10).
