Positioning cylinder for third rail current pick-up of rail transport vehicle

A positioning cylinder 10 has a locking piston 27 sliding in a cylinder and a piston rod 16. On the top of the piston are L-shaped pivoted links 39. Their radial legs40 grip the piston rod and are pressed by a spring 50 on to the end face of an unlocking rod 46 which can slide within the piston rod. The ends 51 of the axial legs of the links are shaped like noses and interact with a locking bead 56 on the inside of the shell 54 which sits inside the cylinder. Above the shell is an unlocking piston 58. This slides axially and can touch the radial legs of the links with a central tube 60. The piston rod is connected to a girder 63 by springs.
