High temp. breeder reactor for extracting hydrogen@ and oxygen@ from ice

In a high temp. breeder reactor, the novelty is a pulsed, cyclic operating mode whereby, in an evacuated hollow body (1) made of ice, nuclear fission is used to create a low density plasma such that the kinetic energy of the plasma particles is much greater than the energy which binds the individual atoms of ice molecules, so that ice molecules on the inner surface of the hollow body are split into atoms and ions.
