A sample dispenser (10) for dispensing a sample of product. The dispenser (10) includes a dispensing apparatus (28, 52) for dispensing a sample where the dispensing apparatus (28, 52) is displaceable between a stand-by position and a dispensing position in which the dispensing apparatus (28, 52) dispenses the sample. The dispenser (10) also includes motorized driving apparatus (56) for selectively driving the dispensing apparatus (28, 52) between its stand-by position and its dispensing position and user controlled activation apparatus (30) for actuating the driving apparatus (28, 52).
