The adjustment appts. has a bell-shaped spring housing (1) secured to the rail brake body (2), containing an axially movable spring plate (3), acted on by a load spring (6) supporting the weight of the rail brake. The spring plate supports a relatively rotatable sleeve shaft (7), with an internal screw thread (11), receiving a threaded setting rod (12), supported from the rail vehicle chassis. A stroke transfer wiper (15) between the spring plate and the spring housing has operating elements (18,19) cooperating with corresponding elements (20,21) of the spring housing, their relative spacing determining the brake shoe working stroke.
