SUBSTRATE FOR OPTICAL DISK

A substrate for an optical disk, on which information signals are recorded. The substrate has pre-pits formed of protrusions and recesses to generate tracking error signals. This electroacoustic convertor substrate includes at least a recording layer and/or a reflection layer on its flat surface, and a plurality of pre-pits formed in such a manner as to form pairs at positions offsetted from an imaginary track center while interposing this imaginary track center between them. The substrate is produced by injection molding of a transparent synthetic resin material. At least the region on which the recording layer and/or the reflection layer is disposed is not greater than 1 mm, and thus a pit pattern formed on a stamper can be transferred without generating a transfer error when the synthetic resin material is injection molded.
