Letter box with signal generator

A signal generator is arranged on or in the letter box. The signal generator is preferably in the form of an indicator which comprises a base plate (2) arranged above the base (1) of the box, at least one spring element, and a first contact provider (41). The base plate (2) is hingedly connected to an edge of the base (1) of the box. The spring element and contact (41) are arranged between the base plate (2) and the box base (1). A second contact provider may be arranged near the post box flap (3). The contacts are preferably electromechanical. The signal generator may be a lamp arranged inside the box near the flap (3) or it may be a movement detector. A lamp may be arranged on the front of the box, connected to the signal generator. A bell button may be provided on the front of the box.
