The dosing device has a container with sidewalls (3) round an internal space, in one of which is an issuing aperture (4) and communicating channel (13). There is a feed aperture (5) offset from the issuing aperture and linked to it by the channel. A portioning member can move in the channel between two end positions. There is a variable-volume chamber accessible from outside the portioning member. The offset of the issuing and feed apertures is such that they overlap each other but not completely. Both have similar cross-sections, ie. rectangular, pref. square.
