The head is for a rigid centrally-mounted coupling, having a recess (4) between large and small claws (2,3). Parallel guide faces are provided in the recess for mating ones on the small claw, while its bottom forms a stop for a supporting face (7) on the small claw. A coupling for an air supply is included. The mouth (11) of an air passage (10) is contained in the supporting face (7). A chamber (13) is formed in the recess bottom (9), accommodating an air pipe (24) with coupling (16) so as to allow free movement in the radial direction. The coupling is spring-loaded (20) in the direction of the recess. There can be mating centring faces in the passage mouth and on the coupling mouthpiece, and which can be equipped with seals.
