<p>An expression vector for use in producing transgenic animals and cell lines, the expression vector comprising a portion of the 5' flanking sequence of the human osteocalcin gene and a portion of the 3' flanking sequence of the human osteocalcin gene, the flanking sequences being separated by a linker encoding at least one unique restriction site. Reporter genes introduced into the linker can be expressed in a bone cell-specific manner in animals for screening therapeutic compounds suspected to affect osteoblasts and/or bone physiology.</p> |
