A side burner (30) for a barbecue grill (10) comprising: a base member (32) for housing a burner unit (34); a lid (36) hingeably connected to the base member (32); the lid (36) being pivotal between a closed position in which the lid (36) covers the burner unit (34) and an open position in which the lid (36) has been pivoted away from the burner unit (34) to provide access thereto; and a grid (38) hingeably connected to the lid (36); the grid (38) being movable from a first position to a second position when the lid (36) is pivoted from the closed position to the open position.
