A video signal editing device which receives interframe-coded video signals, edites them, and produces output free of disturbance. Therefore, when a B-frame comes to the last of a sequence of coded video signals at the time of connecting coded video signals in which one B-frame and one I-frame constitute one GOP in this order to each other, the sequence is punctuated after adding the I-frame of the same or next GOP to B-frame. When the B-frame comes to the forefront of a sequence of coded video signals, on the contrary, the sequence is punctuated after adding the B-frame or I-frame of the same or preceding GOP to the B-frame and the sequence is connected to another sequence.
