Light metal pressure die castings having inserts (4) are produced using a fixed die (1) and a movable die (2), the latter contg. at least one movable clamping tongs (3) to receive the inserts. The tongs may be moved in the opening direction of the tool and execute a movement for clamping and releasing the insert perpendicular to the opening direction of the tool. The clamping tongs are coupled with ejectors (5, 6) and include at least two jaws, which release the insert when the tool is opened.
