The device has before and behind the nozzles of the ink-jet cartridge (8) rollers (3,4) for turning the carrier (2,17) of the plotter (1). Between the upper (3,4) and the lower (5,20) rollers there is a rigid plate (6,22) on which the foil (13) lies. Between the two upper rollers there is a vacuum chamber (10) in which another roller (11) is fitted. It is a transfer roller and there is a switch (12) for directing the foil. Alternatively the foil is unwound from an upper roller and then wound again on a lower roller.
