An electromagnetically operated pressure control valve has a solenoid 14 in a housing 12 and a flat armature 23 which moves within a guide ring 33. The armature and the ring comprise a one-piece component which is split into constituent parts before final assembly of the valve. This one-piece component is formed by drawing through a die. The armature sits between two membrane springs which are directly fastened to it without intermediate components. It has a recess 25 which supports the valve shaft 50.
