Auxiliary security lock for motor vehicle doors e.g. front and rear doors

The vehicle door has a conventional lock (10) with key operation and a separate locking security bolt (2) in a secure and concealed location and driven by a servo drive. The servo drive is operated by a security code system and is not visible from outside the door. A simple servo drive comprises a spindle or a hydraulic/pneumatic drive. The security bolt has a pointed nose and locates in a bolt plate (3) on the door frame. The outside of the bolt has ratchet recesses to secure the bolt positions and is slid axially inside a bored mounting block. The security lock can be fitted to any vehicle door including rear luggage door.
