<p>Silica/titanium silicate, silica/beta -zeolite and silica/beta -zeolite/titanium silicate composite materials comprises microspheres of diameter 20-150 mu m and contain 70 wt.% zeolitic materials. The composites have a surface area of 300-800 m2/g. Also claimed is the preparation of the above materials, comprising: (i) the preparation of a silica sol by the acid hydrolysis of silicon alkoxides; (ii) mixing the sol with an aqueous hydroalcoholic suspension of titanium silicalite or beta -zeolite particles of 1 mu m diameter; and (iii) emulsifying and gelling in organic media of the hybrid sol.</p> |
